New Markets
Audi and Volkswagen Digital Platform Launch
Rebuilt a UK only CMS into a multi market, RTL ready platform, winning a global RFP and lifting online led sales in key regions.

Executive summary
A UK agency specialising in used-car platforms won a competitive RFP from Audi/Volkswagen to launch an Approved Used programme in the Middle East, despite its CMS lacking multi-market capabilities. To deliver, the team overhauled the platform in weeks, enabling multi-location stock, RTL language, and regional API integrations, while reframing the UX to reflect premium brand values. The result: a rapid, CI-compliant rollout that boosted lead generation and showroom sales, secured the contract over global rivals, and sustained the partnership through to company exit.
Overview, Strategy & Execution
Challenge
We were a UK agency specialising in used‑car websites via a proprietary CMS.
Audi/Volkswagen wanted to launch an Approved Used programme in the Middle East and we pitched ourselves as “multi‑country ready,” but in reality, the platform wasn’t.
To win and keep the contract, we had to overhaul CMS/back‑office in weeks not months, while creating a premium UX for a market where new cars = status.
Failure to deliver would have cost the RFP and the agency’s chance to expand into a high‑value region.
Approach
Ran international workshops with stakeholders/customers in UK, Germany, and ME.
Re‑architected for multi‑location stock, multi‑currency, RTL layouts, and new third‑party APIs (insurance, finance, stock feeds).
Orchestrated parallel sprints so marketing, design, dev, and translation progressed before dependencies existed.
Pivoted UX from cost‑driven “used” to a guided, luxury buying journey aligned with Audi/VW brand.
Designed CI‑compliant components for scalability and governance.
Impact
🏆 RFP Win: Secured contract over global competitors
⚡ Delivery Speed: Complete overhaul in weeks, not months
📈 Performance: Lead generation ↑ double‑digit %, online‑led sales up in showroom regions
🔄 Longevity: Partnership sustained until company exit
Context + Challenge
Who we were: UK agency focused solely on the used‑vehicle market, with proprietary CMS + stock admin integrating finance, warranty, and dealer systems.
The ask: Multi‑market, multi‑location launch of an Approved Used programme in the Middle East.
The gap: Platform lacked:
Multi‑location stock management + movement
Multi‑currency, multi‑language (Arabic RTL)
Regional API integrations (insurance, finance, stock)
Sub‑brand handling + localisation tools
My Role
Owned end‑to‑end redesign: platform architecture, UX strategy, UI design, and delivery
Directed client research/workshops and premium UX repositioning
Aligned engineering, marketing, design, and localisation streams under a single delivery roadmap
Process at-a-glance
Discovery + RFP Support: Vision decks, prototypes, and technical proposals for global selection; workshops to align expectations.
“Secret” Overhaul: Scoped CMS and stock workflows for multi‑market ops; parallel sprints with asset creation, design, dev, and translation in motion simultaneously.
UX Strategy Pivot: Research confirmed used‑car stigma; reframed journey to emphasise “approved” quality and premium service.
Execution + Governance: CI‑compliant design system, reusable components, dealer‑level workflows, permissions, and approval routing.
Launch + Optimise: On‑time delivery; tracked lead volume, CPL, and conversion post‑launch.
Solution Highlights
Platform Scalability: Multi‑market CMS with localised pricing, language, and RTL support; integrated regional APIs.
Premium UX: High‑quality imagery, certification checklists, guided enquiry and finance flows.
Operational Tooling: Stock movement between locations, dealer‑specific CMS controls, lead routing.
Design System: CI‑locked, reusable components ensuring brand fidelity across all markets.
Impact/Outcomes
🏆 RFP Win: Chosen over global competitors
⚡ Delivery Speed: Months‑long rebuild compressed into weeks without team burnout
📈 Performance: Lead gen ↑ double‑digit %, CPL ↓; online‑led sales up in regions with established showrooms
🔄 Longevity: Partnership extended until company exit
Reflection
This project proved that disciplined parallel workflows and a clear UX vision can turn a daunting, multi‑market rebuild into a launch advantage, and that reframing “used” as premium can shift buyer behaviour in markets with entrenched status norms.
